Post TDP row BJP appoints Ram Madhav to oversee Andhra affairs

New Delhi/Amaravati, March 19: In order to streamline the political situation in the coastal state, BJP has appointed Ram Madhav as the in-charge of Andhra Pradesh. After the successful electoral campaigns in North-eastern state, Madhav will observe the political affairs of his home state.

On March 17, BJP National President Amit Shah had met key BJP leaders from Andhra Pradesh and discussed the socio-political situation of the coastal state. The meeting took place on the background of TDP’s walkout from NDA on the issue of special category status. On this occasion, AP BJP Chief and Vizag MP K Hari Babu, BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav and other senior leaders were present.

Speaking to the media after the much-anticipated interaction with Shah, Madhav stated that BJP is committed to the welfare of Andhra. He further added that various measures have already been taken for the Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The former RSS leader who also hails from Andhra mentioned that BJP would pass a resolution to inform people of Andhra about special category status.

According to media reports, the top BJP leadership is planning to rebuild the state organization with new leadership. As quoted by Mumbai Mirror, BJP leader Somu Veerraju is likely to replace the existing state Chief and Visakhapatnam MP Kambhampati Haribabu. Whereas, Hari Babu will be indicated in the Modi Cabinet after the resignations of TDP Ministers.
