Sardar Patel Award: PM Modi declares Award for national unity

New Delhi, Dec 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the new institution of annual Awards, named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, for giving recognition in the field of National Unity.

This award named after Sardar Patel, who known for his tireless efforts to unify the country.

The ‘Sardar Patel Award for National Integration’ will be given to any Indian citizen who made efforts or contributed to national unity in any manner. This announcement was made at an annual conference of Director Generals of Police held at Kevadiya, Gujrat.

On this occasion, Modi also recommended that police forces of four states can organize an annual National level parade near Statue of Unity, on Sardar Patel’s birthday on October, 31.

October, 31 is day celebrated as ‘National Unity Day’.
