
Gandhinagar, Sept 29: Gearing up for the most prestigious assembly election under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi & Party Chief Amit Shah, BJP is all set to kick-start the election campaign with Gujarat Gaurav Yatra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the then Gujarat Chief Minister had taken out the Gujarat Gaurav yatra in the year 2002 after horrifying communal riots.
Speaking to the media Union railway minister Piyush Goyal said that historic Gujarat Gaurav Yatra will begin from October 1 and would conclude on October 15. The two-phase yatra will be helmed by deputy chief minister Nitin Patel and Gujarat BJP Chief Jitu Vaghani.
Elaborating about the mega political event Goyal mentioned that first phase will start on October 1 from Karamsad, the birthplace of Sardar Patel which will cover the region of Central and North Gujarat whereas second leg start will start on October 2 from Porbandar, birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi which will travel through Saurashtra and South Gujarat, a partial stronghold.
The minister further added that on the concluding ceremony Prime Minister Narendra Modi & BJP Chief Amit Shah will address the mammoth gathering. With the extensive journey of 4,657 kms, the Gujarat Gaurav Yatra will pass through 149 assembly segments where various central and state BJP leaders to address around 138 public meetings.
