New Delhi, September 28: Ramayana- the epic of Hindus which bestowed the whole world with the discipline and values imbibed by Lord Rama in his entire life. Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Varanasi tour, visited the Tulsi Manas Mandir and released these ‘Ramayana Postal Stamps’ which highlight the different aspects of Lord Ram’s life. The Ramayana is one of the largest ancient epics in world literature.
While releasing these stamps, PM Narendra Modi said that “this is for the first time that such a set of postal stamps highlighting different aspects of Bhagwan Ram’s life is being released. The life of Bhagwan Ram has been the source of inspiration for people and Mahatma Gandhi had taken it as a mantra in his life. The Manas Temple is the best place for releasing this stamp.” Further, he added “I could have released this at Vigyan Bhawan or PM’s residence in Delhi. But a thought came to my mind that no other place is better than Tulsi Manas Mandir for releasing Ramayana stamp during Navratra. Navratra and Vijaya Dashmi holds the special place in Bhagwan Ram’s life,” he said. The postal stamps depict the history of a nation and also exhibit the changes in the country. The postal department has been contributing to it, he said.
