Ranchi, September 17: Bharatiya Janata Party’s Chief Amit Shah visited Jharkhand on a 3-day trip from Saturday and launched down schemes beneficial for the state. As soon as he landed in the state, Shah along with Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das spoke on the importance of cleanliness and pushed people to help the government in making the state a ‘developed’ one by 2018.

Shah requested people to stay clean and to do the same for the environment around us. He also inaugurated the ‘Swacchata Pakhwada’ campaign from September 15- October 2 where people swore to cleanliness along with Amit Shah. Moving on ahead, the BJP Chief also paid homage to Birsa Munda Ji who was a brave freedom fighter during the independence of the British struggle in India.

Talking about his party during the time of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, "I would like to remind you all, that demand for a separate state of Jharkhand was fulfilled by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. It was created by him and now Modi Ji will help it prosper," Shah said while addressing a rally in Ranchi. Shah also attended the inauguration ceremony of a book based on Indian politician and one of the important pillars of BJP, Deendayal Upadhyay. While addressing the crowd, CM Das announced that the books will be made available in schools, colleges and libraries for people to read about the mighty leader. Amit Shah also enjoyed watching the ProKabaddi match between UMumba and Gujarat Fortunegiants in Ranchi.

A few days back, CM Raghubar Das and the BJP government in the state completed 1000 days successfully and to celebrate that along with the affiliates, Shah addressed ‘Gareeb Kalyan Mela’ at Ranchi. Hitting out at former United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, Shah claimed that the eastern part of India was completely ignored by the last government, and it's only after the BJP came in the Centre development was seen in the state.

"After three years, I can see that the development has begun in the eastern part of India," said the BJP president. As a testament to his claim, Shah compared the present Gross Domestic Product (GDP) with that of the UPA government. He further claimed that Jharkhand's rank in GDP has jumped from 15-20 in the past to the second rank behind Gujarat, with an 8.6 percent growth rate. "Raghubar Das government has proved that changes can be brought about in 1000 days," Shah added.

CM Das at the Gareeb Kalyan Mela asserted that Jharkhand is the only state in India where free gas ovens are distributed to the poor section of the society. Many free services were offered during the Mela.

Shah later also had lunch in the house of Kargil martyr Birsa Oraon, where they were served simple food in leaf plates by the slain martyr’s wife and other family members. He also met people in the area, breaking the security cordon. Speaking on the development of mining and coal industry in Jharkhand, Shah added, “The mining industry is also generating huge revenues. Coal of Jharkhand has the potential to benefit entire India. The poverty here is slowly getting eliminated now.”

Jharkhand has a history of unstable government, where no other chief minister has been able to retain the office for 1000 days. BJP government with Chief Minister Raghubar Das is the first one to get closer to the 1000 day-mark.
