Gandhinagar, December 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to rule in Gujarat fro next five years as Vijay Rupani on Tuesday took the oath of Chief Minister in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP Chief Amit Shah and chief ministers of all BJP-ruled states and those governed by NDA allies including Yogi Adityanath, Dr. Raman Singh etc.
Notably, the after registering a thumping win in Gujarat Assembly polls, Gujarat Governor OP Kohli administered the oath of office and secrecy to Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel and ministers at the Sachivalay Ground in Gandhinagar.
After registering a thumping win in Gujarat Assembly polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to rule the state for the sixth straight time. Likewise, BJP continues to rule Gujarat, Vijay Rupani will continue to be a Chief Minister of the state and Nitin Patel as his deputy.
Apart from Vijay Rupani and Nitin Patel, RC Faldu, Bhupindrasinh Chudasama, Kaushik Patel, Saurabh Patel, Ganpatsinh Vestabhai Vasava, Jayeshbhai Vitthalbhai Radadiya, Dilipkumar Viraji Thakor, Ishwarbhai Ramanbhai Parmar and Pradipsinh Jadeja also took the oath as cabinet ministers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, chief ministers of all BJP-ruled states and those governed by NDA allies are expected to attend the ceremony. Several Union ministers, senior BJP leaders, saints and religious leaders of different faiths have also been invited to attend the ceremony.
Earlier, BJP President Amit Shah on Monday held a special meeting with top party leaders at Party headquarters in Gandhinagar to finalize the list of council of ministers. List of the ministers will be released shortly before the swearing-in ceremony.
BACKGROUND:
The BJP had registered a sixth straight assembly poll win in the key western state on 18 December, winning 99 seats in the 182-member house. Rupani secured a comfortable win from Rajkot West seat by 1,31,586 votes, which is the largest constituency in the Saurashtra region. The Congress Party trailed in second with 77 seats, followed by the Bharatiya Tribal Party (two) and NCP (one), while independent candidates won three seats.
