17th Sindhu Darshan yatra successfully concludes at Leh

undefinedLeh, (Jammu and Kashmir) July 11: The 17th annual pilgrimage of Sindhu Darshan was held successfully at Sindhu Ghat of Leh, in which nearly 1000 pilgrims from six states participated.

Indresh Kumar, senior member of RSS Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini Samiti and patron of Sindhu Darshan Yatra Samiti was prominently present on the occasion to guide and inspire the pilgrims coming from various states of India.


undefinedSelect pilgrims from Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and local (Jammu and Kashmir) areas participated in Sindhu Darshan Yatra.

The Yatra began on June 24 and completed on June 26 at Sindhu Ghat of Leh, situated in picturesque Himalayan mountain ranges.

The Yatra originally began with the initiative of Indresh Kumar with a view to align the Buddhists of Laddakh and Leh with the rest of the Hindu society of India.

undefinedThe Buddhists of Laddakh had initial reservations regarding the motives of the Yatra but the organizers were successful in removing those doubts and misconceptions from their minds.

The Yatra so far was visited by former RSS Sarsanghchalak the late K S Sudarshan, his successor Mohan Bhagwat, former Defence Minist4er George Fernandes, Swami Satyamitranand Giri, Swami Avadheshanand, Sant Yudhisthirlal, former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, Dr Farooq Abdullah, Vandaniya Pramilatai Medhe, and other dignitaries.

undefinedThe UPA government tried to stop this yatra but the initiative was taken by the Buddhists of Laddkah who with the help and support of others formed the Sindhu Darshan Yatra Samiti to keep this annual event going on uninterrupted.

Sindhi Samaj and Himalaya Parivar contributed their mite in this endeavor to keep this yatra going on.
