Bhopal, May 3: Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari has passed derogatory statements against former minister Imarti Devi erupting into controversy in a shocking development.

What did he say?


A video of Jitu Patwari has surfaced in Gwalior in which he is laughingly saying that Imarti is now tasteless. In the video, Jitu Patwari was saying, "Imarti Ji Ka Ras Khatam Ho Gaya Hai Ab" is going viral on social media receiving backlash from the netizens.

BJP Minister Krishna Gaur took a strong objection to the controversial statement made by the Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari against ex-Minister Imarti Devi. She also threatened Patwari of a protest by women workers in case refused to apologise. She also said that Congress leaders are known to disrespect women.


Moreover, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that such statements by the State President of Congress show the mentality of the Congress Party towards women. "All the women of the state will answer in the coming days," he said.

Patwari apologises


Hours after Patwari’s statement created much uproar in the political circle, prompting BJP to call a press conference, he took to social media X to appologise. The state Congress chief clarified that his comment was taken in a wrong context and he has no ill-feelings against Imarti Devi, who is like her 'sister'.

"If there is any mistake in expressing the sentiments then I appologise from the bottom of my heart. My intention was pure and Imarti Devi is like my elder sister and elder sister is akin to mother."



Imarti Devi to lodge a FIR


Former MLA from Dabra Imarti Devi has turned down Jitu Patwari's apology for his indecent remarks. She is assertive about lodging an FIR against Patwari. Speaking to the media, Imarti Devi said that she will approach the SP office and file a defamation case against the state Congress chief.
