Ahmedabad, May 25: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) earned a crucial victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2024 Qualifier 2, securing their spot in the final with a 36-run win at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Chennai.
SRH batted first, posting a total of 175 for 9, thanks to Heinrich Klaasen's crucial 50 runs. Despite a shaky start, SRH managed to pull through with some key partnerships and strategic play.
However, it was their bowling that truly shone, particularly Shahbaz Ahmed, who took 3 wickets for 23 runs, and Abhishek Sharma, who claimed 2 for 24. RR's response was stifled by SRH's spin attack, with Dhruv Jurel's valiant 56 not out off 35 balls standing out in an otherwise faltering batting performance.
With this, there will be not a single player from India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad who will feature in the IPL 2024 Final.
India T20 World Cup 2024 Squad: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Hardik Pandya (Vice Captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (WK), Sanju Samson (WK), Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Siraj.
