New Delhi, May 21: The Indian national flag is being flown at half-mast at all public building across the country Tuesday, as a mark of respect for Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi who was killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday. India announced the one-day state mourning on Monday. No official entertainment will take place during state mourning.
Visuals shared showed flags flying at half-mast at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Parliament House.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the first global leaders to take to social media X, to offer his condolences to the family of Ebrahim Raisi and affirm his support for Iran.
Iranian authorities confirmed on Monday, the death of Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a chopper crash in the mountains to the northwest of the country, close to its borders with Armenia and Azerbaijan. The charred wreckage of the helicopter was found following an overnight search in blizzard conditions.
Soon after the confirmations, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei appointed First Vice-President Mohammad Mokhber as interim president in accordance with the Iranian constitution.
Notably, Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is likely to represent India at the funeral of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash, sources said on Tuesday. They said Dhankhar is likely to leave for Iran on Wednesday.
