It seems like Telangana's Congress is playing with the Publics health, as at least 30 monkeys were found dead in a drinking water tank in Nalgonda district on Wednesday.
The bodies of monkeys were found floating in a water tank that is located in ward number 1 of the Nandikonda Municipality, said police.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the tragedy occurred due to an oversight, as the lid of the water tank was left open, trapping the monkeys inside.
Municipality workers removed the dead monkeys from the tank after the residents of the area complained to authorities about the foul smell from the tank. A case has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing.
Former Telangana Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLA KT Rama Rao slammed the ruling Congress, stating that Revanth Reddy's government has prioritised politics over public health.
Taking to x, the BRS leader said, "What a shameful state of affairs in the Telangana Municipal department. Periodical cleaning and routine maintenance, which are standard protocols to be followed, are being neglected."
