In a spine chilling incident that has come to light from Mira Road, Mumbai police arrested a 45 year old muslim man identified as Mohammed Imran Daraj Khan for raping a 4-year-old Hindu girl . Mohammad Daraj was used to lure the girl with chocolates and biscuits in spite of objections from her father.
The heinous crime took place in the Ramdev Park area of Mira Road, according to local reports. The accused is the victim's neighbour and runs a chicken shop while the father of the victim girl is a barber and owns a shop close to the shop of the accused.
It should be noted that the crime took place on April 07. It came to the fore on 14th April when the girl complained about a stomach ache, when she revealed about it.
The mother of the girl had gone to her maternal home for a few days and hence, her father had been taking care of her. The accused eventually came to know about this and began luring the girl by giving her chocolates and biscuits.
What happened on 7th April
On 7th April, the accused called the girl to his chicken shop, gave her chocolates, and then after some time forced himself upon her. He forcefully took off her clothing and sexually assaulted her. He then threatened the girl with a huge knife and asked her to keep her shut, failing which he said he would kill her.
According to reports, initially the police did not file an FIR in the case. However, as soon as the information of the incident came forward, a mob of people reached the accused's shop, vandalised it and took the accused into their custody. The mob then reached the Navghar Police Station and handed over him to the police.
