Ahead of the loksabha election 2024, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has sparked speculation about her potential foray into the political arena.
In a recent interview with TV9 Bharatvarsh, Ranaut revealed that while she has not officially declared her intentions, she believes that now could be the suitable time for her to step into politics.
Ranaut, known for her outspoken views on various socio-political issues, asserted that despite not holding an official political position, she has actively engaged with political entities, even confronting them from the sets of her films.
She emphasized that her lack of a formal political title has never hindered her dedication to serving her country.
Notably, in a recent interview with TV9 Bharatvarsh, the actor was asked whether she would take a plunge into politics. To which, Kangana replied, “I have literally fought from film sets with political parties. That doesn’t keep me away, it doesn’t take me a seat to do what I want to do for my country. But, if I want to get into politics, I probably think this is the right time.”
However, she stressed that it was not only up to her to decide whether she should contest elections or not. She said, “It is not my place to announce whether I should be contesting or not. It has never kept me away from being a really aware person. I have done more than anyone could from this so-called seat for the country.”
This is not the first time that,Kangana had hinted at her foray into politics. Earlier in an interview with Aaj Tak, she said that she is open to fight the elections from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh if the public wants it and if the BJP gives her a ticket."I want others also to come forward who are hard working. They are people who really hard, I want them to come forward too," she added.
In her upcoming cinematic endeavor, "Emergency," where she serves as actor, director, and producer, Ranaut will portray the role of India's former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. The film is scheduled for release on June 14th.
