Indian women athletes have marked history across Asia, with a string of impressive victories in various sports at the 2024 Asian Championships.

Asian Indoor Athletics Championships. 

  • Harmilan Bains clinched India’s first gold clocking 4:29.55 in the women’s 1500m held in Tehran, Iran.
  • Jyothi Yarraji broke the National Record to win gold in the women’s 60m held in Tehran, Iran.
  • Ankita Dhyani won the silver medal in the women's 3000m held in Tehran, Iran.
 


Table tennis

  • Ayhika Mukherjee won against Chinese World No. 1 Sun Yingsha held in Busan.
  • Sreeja Akula won against Chinese World No. 2 Wang Yidi held in Busan.

Gymnastics

  • Pranati Nayak won the bronze medal in the women's vault event at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup 2024 in Cairo, Egypt

Hockey

FIH Women's Hockey Pro League: India notch second win, beat Australia 1-0

Shooting

The trio of women’s team Esha Singh, Rhythm Sangwan and Surbhi Rao, won gold medal in10m air pistol team.
Another trio of women’s team Elavenil Valarivan, Nancy and Mehuli Ghosh, won gold medal in 10m air rifle team
Sift Kaur Samra, Ashi Chouksey and Anjum Moudgil won gold medal in 50m rifle 3 positions team
Elavenil Valarivan won silver medal in 10m air rifle
The trio of Rhythm Sangwan, Esha Singh and Simranpreet Kaur Brar won silver medal in 25m pistol team
Rhythm Sangwan won bronze medal in 10m air pistol and 25m pistol event.
 

Badminton

The Indian Women Team won a historic gold medal at the Badminton Asian Team Championships 2024, which was held in Shah Alam, Malaysia. The women of Indian Badminton Team who has contributed in this historic win are- PV Sindhu, Anmol Kharb, Treesa Jolly, Gayatri Gopichand, Ashmita Chaliha, Priya Konjengbam and Shruti.
