After reading ‘Arthavyavstha of Mandirs’, Volume- I, written by Sandeep Singh, if you are convinced that Mandirs must be preserved, you are going to like this Volume-II ‘Mandir ke liye Ek Dhashak’ (A Decade for Mandirs) even more!

The author aptly states that this is the best time for Hindus to get the glory of the Mandirs back. Bharat is fortunate to have, for the first time, a government that is wholeheartedly working towards restoration of past glory of Mandirs. In the book, Sandeep Singh appeals to all Hindus to give 10 years of their life (a decade) to any of the Mandirs in their neighborhood. Furthermore, he beautifully explains how with the 1% principle (a little extra every day) creates 37 times stronger results and a little less every day, creates 1500 times weaker results! It is better to get results with consistent efforts rather than a big effort just for once. He calls it as a movement for Mandirs and wants each Hindu to be a part of it to change the world for good.

There are four parts/sections in the book:

Part I: Establishing the Anti-Mandir Framework (How Bharat is losing Mandirs)

Part II: Hindus do not understand Mandirs

Part III: The Enemy

Part IV: Dismantling the Anti-Mandir Framework

The strength of this book is that each part has many interesting case studies just like Volume I.

Part I and II of the book describe very well the ‘anti-mandir framework’ in Bharat and what has led to the formation of this framework. How, over time, government, NGOs, judiciary and bureaucracy started interfering in the affairs of Mandirs in the name of modernization and contributed in destroying of Mandirs. However, it is difficult to pinpoint the exact origin of formation of anti-mandir framework.

The author says that the biggest irony or misfortune is that literate Hindus are not educated about their Desh and Dharm. Hindus accepted wrong positioning and wrong constructs of Bharat on several fronts. As a result, there is an inability to understand the correct messages given by our Shastras. The author has very logically explained how Hindus have paid heavy price for their foolishness. The fall of Hindus which started from accepting all the western constructs about Desh and Dharm has impacted the understanding of Mandir as well.

In Part III, the author explains why Hindus have lost ground. He discusses the enemies within the system and how to deal with them. The classification of enemies as intentional and unintential enemies, helps to understand how different acts by fellow Hindus, small or big, have caused irreparable damage to the Hindu civilization.

Part IV of the book offers corrective steps for dismantling the anti-mandir framework. The author provides a comprehensive solution for every aspect of the problem related to Mandir- starting from Murti (the nucleus of the mandir), Pujari, devotees, reclaiming mandirs, re-starting pooja, rebuild mandirs, revival of rituals, utsav/melas, reclaiming the language, literature, bhajans, kathakaars, restoring sanctity of tirthyatra and tirthsthan, re-establishing mandir as a centre of excellence, centre of development, centre of self-defense, reclaiming Hindu Intellectual Property Rights, keeping non-Hindus/foreigners/corporates away from mandir/shastra, keeping mandir money with mandirs and the list of solutions goes on...

Some of the points mentioned in the book might sound a little aggressive but the author has shown courage to explicitly mention everything which has directly or indirectly contributed to the present condition of our Mandirs. Hindus must remember that some hard steps are required to be taken for the survival. “If mandir is lost, civilization is lost!”
