An Air India passenger slammed the airline after she was served a vegetarian meal with chicken pieces in it. The passenger named Veera Jain had booked tickets to fly from Calicut to Mumbai on an Air India Flight AI582 and said that there was an hour long delay in the flight's departure. When the flight took off, she was served the meal with chicken in it.
"On my @airindia flight AI582, I was served a veg meal with chicken pieces in it! I boarded the flight from Calicut airport. This was a flight that was supposed to take off at 18:40 pm but left the airport at 19:40 pm," Jain wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.
Veera Jain shared a photo on X, formerly Twitter, of Air India’s vegetarian biryani which allegedly had chicken pieces. She wrote, “On my @airindia flight AI582, I was served a veg meal with chicken pieces in it! I boarded the flight from Calicut airport. The woman's post saw many user comments, who criticised the airline for serving non-vegetarian food in a vegetarian meal.
"Serving non-vegetarian food labeled as vegetarian goes against our cultural values and is highly unacceptable. Urgent action is requested to address and rectify this issue," one user wrote.
"Such a betrayal of religious sentiments! Even after receiving the complaint, @airindia didn't take an action and let the other vegetarian passengers eat chicken (a sin by their religions). Necessary actions awaited!" another user wrote.
