Indrajaal, a breakthrough in drone defence technology, was launched in Hyderabad in the presence of Uttarakhand Governor Lt. Gen. (retd) Gurmit Singh, with Grene Robotics also beginning its display.
According to officials, this is the world's first and only autonomous wide-area anti-drone or counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS). They claimed that it will revolutionise India's position in the defence technology landscape since it is the world's first anti-drone system capable of guarding against micro, mini, small, big, and extra-large drones.
According to the business, the finding comes amid a dramatic increase in hostile UAV activity in India over the last two years, with many attempts to drop guns, money, and drugs across international boundaries.
According to intelligence assessments, Pakistan's secret agency, ISI, was actively planning to use drones to carry weapons and drugs into Jammu and Punjab.
So far, 76 instances have been documented between the India-Pakistan borders in 2020, 109 in 2021, 266 in 2022, and roughly 200 cases in 2023. This worrying increase highlights the urgent need for increased monitoring and the deployment of appropriate actions to protect national security, according to authorities.
"Indrajaal marks a groundbreaking advancement in defence technology that is set to reshape the security landscape for the defence, public infrastructure, and private sectors," said Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh. This technology will not only strengthen our nation's self-reliance in the military, but it will also answer the pressing necessity of the hour to guard against the growing menace of drones."
