In a shocking development, members of the banned Islamic extremist group Popular Front of India (PFI) allegedly tied up and brutally tortured a serving Army jawan in Chanapara near Kollam on Sunday night, 24 September.
The victim has identified Shine Kumar, who works in the Electronics and Mechanical (EME) cadre of the Indian Army in Rajasthan.
As per the media reports, around six PFI people abducted Shine Kumar from his house. He was then taken to a rubber forest that was located near his house in Kadakkal. He also alleged that they took him to the forest and then tied his hands.
The PFI goons kicked Shine, tied his hands with cello tape, beat him up incessantly, and also marked his back with the terrorist group’s name PFI. The assaulters then fled the spot.
This incident came to light after, twitter users shed light on the incident. A video of the Indian Army Jawan with PFI written with green paint on his back is doing rounds on social media. It can be seen in the video that the t-shirt of the Indian Army Jawan is torn from the back and PFI written with green paint is visible on his back. The video is going viral on social media.
A complaint has been registered in connection with the matter. However, there are no reports of arrests in connection with the matter yet. The PFI was banned by the Indian Government and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and National Investigation Agency (NIA) have conducted major crackdown against the banned outfit.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) last year banned the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its associated outfits for five years for their alleged role in terror funding and links to global terror groups.
