Canada-based Punjabi Singer Shubh seems to be getting into more trouble over his alleged support for Khalistan. Recently, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) members tore down his posters in Mumbai over his upcoming concert in Mumbai. Now, netizens are uninstalling the BookMyShow app for sponsoring his shows in India.
Notably, Subh Still Rollin Tour's tickets are currently available for booking at BookMyShow.Com. However, netizens are unhappy over his support of Khalistani ideology.
Shubh and his alleged Khalistani support
NewsBharati, in an exclusive
report in March this year, had reported that Shubh had a shared controversial post on his social media account which now stands deleted. This post was shared at that time when the central government and the state government were hunting for pro-Khalistani supporter Amritpal Singh and his followers.
With the caption "Pray for Punjab", he had shared a distorted map of India in which the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and North-eastern states are not included. However, the singer had now deleted the story after receiving backlash but the netizens were confused about why he has asked to pray for Punjab? In a new story on Instagram, with no post, he had written "Pray for Punjab".
BJYM protesting against his tour
Shubh announced a three-month-long tour which is scheduled to take place in India and start from September. Under the tour, Shubh will perform across 12 cities in India. The event is organised onboard the Cordelia Cruise. Shubh will be performing along with DJ Chetas and the Bismil Ki Mehfil event is also organised for the cruise event. And tickets for his tickets are available on BookMyShow app.
Reacting to this, the BJP took this move and demanded the strictest action against pro-Khalistan singer Shubneet Singh and the cancellation of all his performances. A memorandum was also submitted to the show's organizers Team Innovation, Percept Limited and Cordelia Cruises to cancel the show.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) President Tajinder Singh Tiwana told ANI, "There is no space for Khalistanis who are the enemy of integrity and unity of India. We won't let Canadian singer Shubh perform on the auspicious land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mumbai. If no proper action is taken then the organisers will have to face our opposition."
Netizens uninstalling BookMyShow
With an aim to boycott "the Khalistani supporter", netizens are uninstalling the BookMyShow app and urging other to do the same.
