Lucknow, August 05: In a shocking development, Uttar Pradesh police arrested three muslim youth for allegedly gang-raping a Class 10 student and trying to force her to convet to Islam in Deoria.
SHO, Tarkulwan, Dinesh Mishra said that the girl was on way to her school on Thursday when she was intercepted by three youths who forcibly took her to a sugarcane field and gang-raped her.
He said that the girl’s mother alleged that one of the youths had been stalking her daugther and the trio also tried to force her to convert to Islam.

“When my daughter raised an alarm, the accused threatened to make her video viral and fled from the spot. She did not inform us about the incident on Thursday. She refused to go to school on Friday. When I asked the reason, she broke down and narrated her ordeal to me,” the girl’s mother said.
The survivor’s mother informed the police that the accused persons were the residents of a nearby village.“We have lodged an FIR under charges ofgang rape and under the UP Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act,” said Mishra.
Superintendent of police, Deoria, Sankalp Sharma said that the trio had been detained and further investigations were on in the case.
