Giving a blow to the Communist Party of India's (Marxist) conspiracy of encroaching lands of the Hindu temples, Kerala police demolished an illegal shed built by the Ezhukon CPIM local secretary, K. Omanakuttan on the land of Thiru Aryankavu Koikal Shasta Temple in Kottarakkara, Kerala

The Kerala police took this action after Bajrangi Dal threw light on the matter. As per the reports, Omanakuttan built a structure on Temple land without permission. Initially, he built a shed and occupied the land.

Following this, the Bajrangi Dal started protests against the illegal encroachment on temple land. They also filed a police complaint against the development.

After that, the Ombudsman in retaliation to the FIR, with the help of the CPIM secretary, constructed a block using cement bricks within two days. Taking the cognisance of the matter, the temple administration and Bajrang Dal then both reported the land encroachment to the district collectorate.

Following significant protests, Panchayat officials used a JCB to demolish the illegally built structure. It should be noted that there is a widespread issue of encroachment on temple land.
