'Rahul's original surname is not Gandhi but Khan': Sharad Ponkshe launches scathing remarks at RaGa

Taking a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for insulting Veer Damodar Savarkar, actor Sharad Ponkshe said that Rahul's original surname is not Gandhi but Khan. For unreserved, Sharad Ponkshe is well known for his lead role in Me Nathuram Godse Boltoy.

He made this scathing remark while speaking at a lecture based on Veer Savarkar organised by Bharatiya Vichar Mancha at Malegaon in Nashik district on Wednesday for enlightenment and public awareness.

He said, "You are not Gandhi, and neither is Savarkar. His original surname is not Gandhi, but Khan.He is not a descendant of Mahatma Gandhi, he took advantage of his surname. He is a descendant of Feroze Khan."

"This is their history. If they don't know the history of their grandmother, how can they know the history of Savarkar. It just seems to be taking advantage of their last name. Either way it is neither Gandhi nor Savarkar. They always apologize and do their job. He had apologized to the Supreme Court in the Rafale case. Later he did the same on his statement about Swatantra Veer Savarkar. Meanwhile, actor Sharad Ponkshe is always in the news for different reasons. And now attention is being paid to what position Congress will take on this statement made by Ponkshe about the Gandhi family.", Ponkshe also raised such a question on this occasion.

Notably, actor Sharad Ponkshe's play 'Me Nathuram Godse Boltoy' was quite controversial. There was a lot of opposition to his play. Therefore, the experiments in this play were stopped. But now Ponkshe has decided to perform this play once again on the stage. Ponkshe himself announced this by sharing a video on social media.
