While India is celebrating its 77th Independence Day, there is disturbing news from West Bengal, where some people were seen disrespecting the Indian National flag. A kid allegedly identified as Rohingya Muslim disrespectfully grubbed up the national flag hoisted on the top of the house and threw it to the ground.

This incident came to light after a video of it went viral on social media.
 
This despicable incident occurred yesterday at Itinda, Basirhat; North 24-Parganas, in front of Police personnel. It should be noted that Bashirhat, a border town of West Bengal, is a hub of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.
 
In the video, this kid first took down the flag and then threw it on the ground on Independence Day.
 
 
When CM herself disrespect the flag what to expect from other?
 
Amid this shocking development, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is also seen insulting the National flag during the flag hoisting ceremony.
 
 
This is not the first time, earlier, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee allegedly showed utter disrespect to the national anthem” by allegedly singing the anthem while in a sitting position and then “abruptly stopping after 4 or 5 lines”
 
What Law Says ? 
 
The Indian National Flag has been specified as an Emblem in the Schedule of The Emblems And Names (Prevention Of Improper Use) Act, of 1950. Section 2 of The Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971, specifies that; whoever in any public place or in any other place within public view; burns, mutilates, defaces, difiles, disfigures, destroys, tramples upon or [otherwise shows disrespect to or brings] into contempt (whether by words, either spoken or written, or by acts) the Indian National Flag or the Constitution of India or any part thereof, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.
