Jamtara, Aug 1: A video of Congress MLA from Jamtara, Irfan Ansari, is going viral in which he has made controversial remarks against Hindu voters. He has said, "Even if you (Hindus) don't vote, we will win".

He also alleged that the Congress MLA immediately removed tilak from his forehead in front of everyone. "...and later said to the Hindus- "Even if you don't vote, we will win". Don't worry Irfan ji, this time the people of Jharkhand will definitely give a reply to this poor mentality of yours," he added.

What's in the video?

A half-built temple is visible in the video where Congress MLA Irfan Ansari was seen welcomed by locals. They applied tilak on his forehead. In span of no time, he immediately came out of the temple and wiped the tilak with his pot.

Irfan Ansari is seen saying in the video that "I will win from Jamtara with a huge majority. I do not know whether Hindu people vote or not, but even if Hindu people do not vote for me, I will win with the votes of my community."

Who is Irfan Ansari?

Notably, Irfan Ansari is Congress MLA from Jamtara assembly seat. Ansari won the assembly elections held in 2014 and 2019. Not only this, Irfan Ansari's father Furkan Ansari was also a Congress MLA from the Jamtara assembly seat.

Recently, the Congress party had revoked the suspension of three of its Jharkhand MLAs, and among them was Irfan Ansari. The Congress party had last year suspended these three MLAs, who were held with a huge amount of cash in West Bengal on Saturday, with immediate effect.

The three MLAs, Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kachchap and Naman Bixal Kongari were travelling in an SUV on National Highway-16 at Ranihati in Bengal when the police intercepted their vehicle. Ansari's relatives also said that he was in Howrah to "do shopping, especially of sarees" ahead of the upcoming festive season and thus, was carrying a huge chunk of cash.
