Security has been increased outside Chabad House in Mumbai's Colaba district after the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) retrieved Google pictures of the structure from two terror suspects captured in Rajasthan while contemplating an assault. Following the retrieval of the photographs, a simulated drill was apparently conducted in the region on Thursday.
Mohammed Imran Mohammed Yunus Khan and Mohammed Yunus Mohammed Yakub Saki were detained by Maharashtra ATS a few days ago in Pune. Both are Ratlam residents of Madhya Pradesh. The two individuals were apprehended in connection with the Al-Sufa terror organization investigation.
Statement by Mumbai Police:
"The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) found some Google images from the accused of Chabad House located at Colaba. They informed us. Accordingly, we have beefed up the security at Chabad House, which already has very high security. A mock drill was also carried out on Thursday at the centre and outside area, said an officer from the Colaba police station as quoted by Hindustan Times.”
Security Tightened
Security has been increased outside Chabad House, and the suspects are presently being questioned by authorities.
The terror suspects performed reiki around the neighborhood and photographed the Chabad House. Following the arrest, the Mumbai Police enhanced security at Nariman House.
Notably, Chabad House was one of the terrorist targets on November 26th.
