In a shocking development,Bengaluru police has arrested Suleman VK for trashing a on duty traffic police officer, Umesh for clamping the wheels of their car, which was parked in a no-parking zone on Wednesday evening.
According to police, the constable of Banaswadi Traffic Police Station was carrying out his regular duties when he was assaulted.The incident happened around 6.20 pm in front of the SBI ATM on 5th Main of HRBR Layout.
The two men allegedly called the constable, M Umesh, on his mobile, saying they had to rush someone to hospital. When he reached the spot, they started arguing with him and repeatedly punched his face and head, though he removed the clamp to allow them to attend to the emergency.
This comes after the video of th incidnet went viral on social media. In a video, Suleman and his brother is seen brutally hitting the constable.
A case has been registered and the main accused, identified as Suleman VK, is in police custody.
"A traffic constable of Banaswadi Traffic PS was assaulted while performing his duty. A criminal case has been registered in Banaswadi PS. The main accused has been arrested. Further investigation is continued," Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) MN Anucheth said in a tweet.
