Two people - Azeem (27) and a minor (16) were arrested after a severed head of a buffalo was found on a roadside near Hanuman temple in northeast Delhi"s Welcome police station area on Friday Evening.

New Delhi, July 01: In a shocking incident, a severed head of buffalo was found near Hanuman temple on Nala Road in the West Gorakh Park area of Northeast Delhi. This comes days after the occasion of Eid-Al-Adha.

The incident came to light after the Welcome police station received a phone call on Friday at 5:30 pm about the presence of animal remains near a Hanuman temple. A video of dumped severed head of buffalo is going viral on social media. In the video, the severed head of a buffalo could be seen lying on the road near the temple premises.
 
A large crowd were also seen standing outside the temple and discussing the matter. One man from the crowd was seen removing the dead remains from the road using a newspaper.
 
 
Two people were arrested after a severed head of a buffalo was found on a roadside in northeast Delhi's Welcome police station area on Friday Evening, said North East Delhi Police. They have been identified as Azeem (27), and another person was a minor aged 16. They both allegedly dropped the severed buffalo head.
 
"On June 30, at about 05:38 pm, a call was received in PS. Welcome that a severed Buffalo head had been found on the road outside a temple on Nala Road, West Gorakhpark, Welcome," said DCP North East Delhi.
 
 
"It was found that two boys on a scooty had dropped the severed buffalo head on the road outside the temple. The buffalo head was taken into police possession immediately and removed from the spot. SHO Welcome has arrested the two culprits, Azeem, age 27, and another boy, age 16. Both are residents of Babarpur, Delhi," said a police official.
 
The police have appealed to the people to maintain peace in the area and not spread any kind of rumour.
 
"Acting swiftly on the information that a severed head of a buffalo was found on a roadside under the Welcome police station, the police of the North East district have arrested two accused. People are urged to help the police maintain peace in the area. And don't spread any kind of rumor," said DCP, North East Delhi.
