Sikligar Sikh Lynching in Parbhani: On 27 May, two minors Arun Singh (15) and Kirpal Singh (14) and their relative Gora Singh (16), were brutally thrashed and beaten up by a "peaceful" mob in Maharashtra's Parbhani district on the suspicion of being thieves. One of the minors - Kirpal Singh - has succumbed to his injuries. The incident took place near Ukhlad village in Parbhani district. The victims belong to the Sikligar Sikh community.

What Happened?

 
The incident happened on May 27 at 3 am in the morning when three Sikligar Sikh minors had gone to look for a pig in the Ukhalad village of Parbhani district after receiving a call in the morning. However, they could not find the big, On their way back home, they were blocked by another community in the village - Akram Patel and 4-5 others who mistook them as thieves. At the same time, an announcement was made from the loudspeaker of the religious place (mosque) in the village that thieves have come to our village.
 
They gathered and brutally thrashed the boys and hit on their heads with iron rods leading to the death of one of them. In this incident on May 27, a minor boy Kirpal Singh died while other two were seriously injured.
 
 
As they belonged to the Sikh community, his turban, which is sacred in the Sikh community, was removed, hair was held and was dragged around the village and thrashed. Besides, boiling hot water was poured all over their body and chilli powder was thrown into their eyes to see if he was really dead. Akram Patel, the former sarpanch was telling him at the spot, "Kill him and I will see everything else".
 
In this case, Syed Ejaz Syed Ibrahim, Syed Akram Syed Agamia, Syed Tohid Syed Samdar, Syed Fazlu Syed Ali, Sheikh Javed Sheikh Pirmia, Pasha Khan alias Baba Khan P and Afzal Khan has been arrested.
 
 
A case has been registered under the charges that have been including Indian Penal Code Sections 302 (Murder), 307 (Attempt to Murder), 341 (wrongful restraint), 143 (unlawful assembly), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting while being armed with a deadly weapon), and 149 (under which every member of an unlawful assembly is considered guilty of an offence committed in prosecution of a common object). Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 has also been invoked.
 

Liberals peddling lies

 
In order to whitewash this communal crime against Sikligar Sikh community, the left-liberal Islamist community peddled lies. One of them was Mohammed Akhef, a Times of India journalist. "This is not a communal incident, two of the accused are from other faiths. Victims are ‘Sikkalkari’, a tribal community n not Sikhs, as is being claimed. Alarm about thieves entering village was raised from religious place. And it was not a Mosque," he said. SGPC Condemns the Incident

 
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak committee has condemned the incident and urged the police to take strict action against perpetrators. "This heinous crime is a blot on humanity, whose culprits deserve strict punishment. He said the police should identify and arrest all the culprits and ensure that strict and exemplary punishment is given to them," said SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami.
