Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Twitter owner Elon Musk in New York on Tuesday. The Prime Minister is on a three-day visit to the United States. After meeting PM Modi, Elon Musk expressed his desire to visit India and said he would be visiting the country next year.

Musk also called himself a "fan of Modi", as he praised the prime minister's leadership. "I am incredibly excited about the future of India. I think India has more promise than any large country in the world," he said at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel.

In an exclusive interview with India Today's News Director Rahul Kanwal, Elon Musk said Tesla, the renowned electric vehicle (EV) giant, will invest in India soon. He also said he had earlier asked for additional incentives for investing in the country.
 
PM Modi tweeted about the meeting and said he had multifaceted conversations on issues ranging from energy to spirituality.

INVESTMENTS IN INDIA
 
When asked about key takeaways from the meeting, Elon Musk said, "He (PM Modi) cares about India, 'cause he is pushing us to make significant investments in India, which is something we intend to do. We are just figuring out the right timing."
 
He also said that he is planning to bring Starlink, a broadband internet service by SpaceX to India. Musk said it could help people in rural areas, who might not have access to the internet.
 
PM Modi also met American astrophysicist Neil De Grasse Tyson, professor Nassim Nicholas Taleb, author Robert Thurman and investor Ray Dalio in New York.

PM Modi is visiting the US from June 21-24 at the invitation of US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.
 
He is scheduled to meet over two dozen thought leaders from various walks of life, including Nobel laureates, economists, artists, scientists, scholars, entrepreneurs, academicians and health sector experts.
