New Delhi, June 13: Creating another set of absurd moments for himself, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made a controversial statement saying that the Balasore train tragedy, which resulted in the loss of nearly 300 lives, happened because Bhagwan Shiv opened his third eye after seeing what had happened to the country after people elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the party’s Maha rally at RamLila Maidan, his remarks were aimed at targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also called the collapse and damage of Saptarishi idols in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain a result of Bhagwan Shiv’s wrath.

"The King jailed everyone who drew cartoons of him or wrote against him. The King also took action against judges who spoke against him. Devtas were looking at the earth, seeing what was happening. They approached Bhagwan Shiv to end the misery. Bhagwan Shiv opened his third eye, and strange things started happening in the country. There were crimes taking place against women everywhere across the country. Strong winds tore down large and heavy statues of Sapt Rishis. A train accident took place, killing more than 250 people. One day, rains came down from the heavens, and Akashvani told people to gather and stand against him. The public woke up and removed the King in one year."

During his speech, Kejriwal also narrated a story titled “Chuathi paas raja” with the intention of targeting PM Modi, and his decisions like demonetization and Farm law. In the story, he made references to the Balasore train tragedy, attributing it to a curse of Bhagwan Shiva.

"The more times you listen to the story of #चौथी_पास_राजा, the more God’s grace will shower upon your family. By propagating the story of Chauthi Paas Raja, the country and society will progress. That’s why whoever has heard this story should listen to it again and spread it well," he said.

The Maha Rally was organized to protest against the Modi government’s ordinance, which curtailed the bureaucratic powers of the Delhi government and went against the Supreme Court’s order on the same issue. Kejriwal has been traveling to different states to rally support and block the ordinance in the Rajya Sabha.

According to AAP leaders, over one lakh people had gathered at the event to register their anger against the ordinance. The event saw the participation of all big party leaders from Environment Minister Gopal Rai to Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj.
