Jabalpur: Family conducts funeral for Hindu girl who is still alive for getting converted to Islam & married to Muslim man

Jabalpur, June 12: In a shocking development, a Hindu family in Jabalpur conducted funeral rites for their daughter as per Hindu customs though she was still alive. This came after their daughter Anamika Dubey (22) got converted to Islam and married a Muslim man Ayaz Khan (25) against the wishes of her parents and brother.

 

 

 

It was revealed that the girl has converted to Islam after their wedding invitation card surfaced. Ayaz Khan developed a relationship with Anamika Dubey, following which they did court marriage. After around 5 months, he converted her to Islam and married her in an Islamic ceremony on June 7. The issue went viral after the wedding card went surfaced on social media in which Anamika is written in brackets next to ‘Uzma Fatima.’

 

 

The last rites were held on the banks of the Narmada river in front of a garlanded photo of their daughter. As the girl went ahead with her marriage, her family members offered 'pind daan' (funeral rites) at Gaurighat on the banks of the Narmada river on Sunday.

 

 

A condolence card was also printed on her demise, which was sent to their acquaintances and relatives and invited them to participate in the 'Pind Daan Sanskar' organized on the banks of the Narmada River.

 

 

 

On Sunday, at Gaurighat on the banks of the Narmada, the family members performed the rites of Pinddaan with complete rituals. Relatives said that they had brought up their daughter Anamika with great affection, but she had defamed the whole family by marrying a non-religion youth. As a result, they thought that there was no meaning for them to consider their daughter to be alive anymore.

 

Girl's brother Abhishek Dubey said that he had dreams for his sister's marriage but her stubbornness broke all their family aspirations. "I never thought that I would have to see such days that I would have to do Pind Daan even while I was alive," he said.

 

 

The girl’s family has stated that their daughter was manipulated and converted to Islam, labelling it love jihad. They have said that their daughter was converted to Islam without their knowledge, and they learnt about the upcoming wedding only after the wedding card started circulating on social media.

 

Anamika’s father Chandrika Prasad Dubey said that his daughter was lured by the Muslim man under a conspiracy, and he married her by misleading her. He also said that Ayaz is now threatening to kill him. The girl’s mother Anuparna Dubey said that they learnt about the wedding only from social media after the card which mentions their name went viral. She has demanded that the girl should be brought back.

 

 

Hindu organisations who joined them in the protest have also stated that such occurrences will not be tolerated. They along with the girl’s family surrounded the Superintendent of Police (SP) office after the invitation card came to light. They also warned that this is love jihad and it will not be tolerated.
