New Delhi, Apr 5: India-made Israeli Tavor X 95 rifles are making a buzz in African militaries and opening gates for new international markets for the product. The rifles are made locally in India by Punj Lloyd Raksha Systems.
Punj Lloyd Raksha Systems have manufactured Tavor X 95 rifles, under licence from Israel Weapons Industries (IWI). The Israel Weapons Industries (IWI) is already in service with the Indian Army’s Special Forces, Indian Navy’s MARCOS and IAF’s Garud Commandos and also with the Border Security Force.
According to
reports, the India-made Tavor X 95 rifle is getting attention from many African militaries that are keen to conduct local trials of the guns for evaluation purposes. The Tavor X 95 rifles assembled in India are based on 100 per cent transfer of technology from IWI.
The Tavor X95 (also referred to as the MTAR-21) is the variant of the Tavor that was selected as the future standard infantry weapon of the IDF in 2009.
