Soon after netizens started trending hashtags against the Sky Bag for promoting Love Jihad in the name of an Eid greeting advertisement, the luggage manufacturing company issued a clarification, claiming that the video is fake.

The VIP Ind has not issued or posted this advertisement and has no connections, with the person, who posted this advertisement. It's posted by a Facebook user named 'puffington ghost'."

It should be noted that, in the video that went viral, a Muslim man removes the bindi from a Hindu girl (supposedly a girlfriend) who has put on her bindi and makes her wear a veil to indicate conversion to Islam, allegedly at the request of her Muslim lover. It was claimed that VIP Bags had released an ad promoting conversion.

The video’s caption as Ramzan Greetings has also come under fire for its alleged attempt to normalize the practice of Love Jihad. Protestors call it a soft conversion tactic.

As per the reports, the clip was created by combining the audio from the commercial for VIP Bags and the video from the commercial for Sky Bags. The video has been posted by the director, Sumira Shik himself with the hashtag ‘#SufiyumSujathayum’.

This incident was indeed a lesson for netizens who blindly share videos and follow the narrative trend without doing fact check about it.
