Ganjam, April 20: In an attempt at Islamisation of Odisha, Pakistan Flag was allegedly unfurled on Jamia Masjid, Ganjam. BJP Odisha asked to file FIR against Masjid & Bangladeshi Muslims settled in Aska.
After the posts were made viral, BJP Odisha’s Aska Unit along with various members of Civil society & local residents of Aska town approached Aska Model Police station & lodged an FIR against the Masjid as well as Bangladeshi Muslims who are settled in Aska.
As per the complaint filed by BJP Odisha Aska Unit’s Uma Charan Pradhan, “The alleged Pakistan flag is being flown on the masjid for 4 days & the flag can be seen easily by the local public.

Furling of the alleged Pakistan flag on a Masjid in Odisha’s Aska town is harming our country’s unity, and sovereignty & depicting Anti India & Anti-national mindset.
This incident clearly shows Pro terrorist activities are given full support in Aska & its roots are deep.
So, we request, Police authorities to take strict actions against the anti-India elements of the masjid who flew the alleged Pakistan flag on the masjid & expose their names to people of Ganjam District as well as Odisha.”
BJP Odisha Aska Unit further in their complaint requested to make the names of the muslims who manage this Masjid Trust Public as well as make a list of Various illegal Bangladeshis who are staying in Aska including their address public.

Recently Odisha has been in News since 12th April,2023 Sambalpur’s Rama Navami Bike Rally was attacked by 200+ Islamic radicals with stones, swords, iron rods, and petrol bombs & stones were pelted from masjid &roof tops Muslim houses on peaceful Hindu pilgrims injuring 10 Odisha Police Officers grievously & leaving 2 Hindus dead in separate targeted attack incidents. As many as 87 Islamic Jihadis were arrested to date & as many as 160+ Islamic jihadi rioters were booked U/s 147,148,323,324,325,326,307,153A,295A,296,298,332,353,427,435,294,149, 25(1)(a) of ARMS ACT 1959 & Section 27 of ARMS ACT 1959.
Internet services in the Sambalpur area are still not normalized since 72 hours & curfew has been imposed in Sambalpur.
Sambalpur SP has pointed towards preplanned planning for targeting Hindu festivals as petrol bombs,swords, stones were seized from rooftops of Muslim houses.
It has to be noted that, attacks on Hindu festivals are on the rise in Bihar, Maharastra, UP, Telangana & even in the national capital of India Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, a Muslim-majority area where Hindus are allowed for Ram mandir processions in their own country for only 200 meters.
Thus attacks on Ramanavami Processions & flying of the Pakistani flag at the masjid in Aska increase dangers for Odisha’s security as well as expose the roots of radicalization among members of the Muslim community.
As Aska police station in Ganjam district was awarded as the best police station in the country by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the DGP/IGP conference in New Delhi back in 2022, it remains to be seen if strict actions were taken against the people who flew Pakistani flag on masjid as well as Bangladeshis staying in Aska or some unseen political hands of the state who are hungry for Muslim appeasement tie hands of “the best No 1 police station” police officers, only time will tell.
