New Delhi, April 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday showered praises on his Lok Sabha constituency- Varanasi- once again! He said that the number of reasons to visit the prominent religious city in Uttar Pradesh has more than 10 reasons.
Further, PM Modi also added the ancient city will "mesmerise" everyone who will visit it.
"I agree but I’ll also add that the number of reasons go well beyond 10. Kashi awaits everyone and it will mesmerise all those who visit," wrote Modi.
This came after PM Modi shared a tweet that listed "10 reasons why you must visit Kashi at least once in your life."
The Twitter thread listed the following 10 reasons to visit Kashi:
1. Shree Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirling - Kashi Vishvanath Temple is one of the most famous Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. The temple stands on the western bank of the holy river Ganga, and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest of Shivatemples.
2. Ganga Aarti - Ganga Aarti is a magnificent, religious and spiritual ceremony that is performed every evening along the Ghats of the Ganges River in Varanasi,
3. Ganga Ghats - Varanasi is surrounded by enthralling ghats of over 80 in number. There is also an interesting tale behind each of them. Interestingly, the city of Varanasi derives its name from two main Ghats – Varun Ghat & Assi Ghat. It has several of such ghats or a pathway that goes into the river as it is the meeting point of three massive rivers – River Yamuna, Gangas, and the Brahmaputra. These places are the mainly used for ritual and spiritual ceremonies taking place at the Ghats.
4. Ganga Snan - This is one of the primary reasons that millions of pilgrims visit this holy place. This starts from the break of dawn while people and sadhus chant mantra. People from across borders and of different age groups do this to cleanse their soul from past sins and receive liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
5. Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir - A very old pious and most famous Hanuman temple of UP
6. Boat Ride in Ganga River - The Ganga boat ride is a must-do in Varanasi. The cool winds, the ghats and the sunsets will mesmerize you!
7. Kashi ka Chaat
8. Godowlia ka Meetha Paan
9. Malaiyo
10. Kullad Chai
PM Modi visited Varanasi on March 24 where he laid the foundation stones, including that of India's first urban ropeway, and inaugurated 28 development projects worth over ₹1,780 crore.
