There have been media reports claiming that the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has removed certain chapters on the Mughal empire. Now, this obviously did not go down well for Mughal sympathisers - the so-called liberals. They started to create baseless speculations that future generations would never know about the Mughals because of this change in the coursebooks.

In yet such instance, Sujata Anandan, the editor of the Congress mouthpiece National Herald tweeted, "Taj Mahal is no abomination. It is one of the seven wonders of the world and India gets maximum tourist returns from that monument. Chhatrapati Shivaji was great, of course. But his exploits would be reduced to nothing without the Moghuls he fought against. Defied them. Was captured by them. Escaped their high-security dungeons. Defeated them in many battles. Was a constant thorn in the side of Emperor Aurangzeb who could never overcome Shivaji. Take away the Moghuls and you take away the raison d’etre of Chhatrapati Shivaji.”
 
It is as if she is trying to say that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj would have been a "nobody" without the battles he fought against the Mughals.
Further, Sujata Anandan also went on to claim, "How twisted is the bigoted sense of RSS history. Even Shivaji’s army was looting and raping, that was what conquering armies did in those days. Your great icon Savarkar labelled Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj a rank fool for not raping the daughter-in-law of the Muslim governor of Kalyan and pulling up his soldiers for involving women in their war. Closer home, Bilkis Bano’s rapists are sharing platforms with your ministers."

This has angered the netizens for using filthy language against Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his army.
 
 
However, there are several incidents where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had respected women. One such instance was when Chhatrapati Shivaji and Chimaji Appa honourably sent back the daughter-in-law of the Muslim Governor of Kalyan. He had said, "In future, during course of warfare and raids in the enemy country, women and children should on no account be touched".
