New Delhi, March 04: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who was in India for the G20 Foreign Ministers meeting, met staff of US embassies in the country on Friday before leaving for his country. A huge diaspora of US nationals and their family members living in different cities of the country met Blinken in New Delhi.
After the meeting, Blinken took to Twitter and said that he was deeply grateful for their hard work and commitment to strengthening India-US ties.
Antony Blinken met staff of the American embassies in Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chennai, and their family members.
In one of the pictures shared by the US leader, he can be seen getting off an auto-rickshaw which was followed by a few more with embassy staff members onboard. The US Embassy in Delhi posted a video of Blinken's auto-rickshaw ride.
Blinken also met women civil society leaders in New Delhi today "over cups of masala chai". During the meeting, he discussed their important work on women empowerment, recognising that it enriches and strengthens both India and the US.
The Democratic Party leader left for his country earlier today after having successful rounds of bilateral meetings.
On Thursday, Antony Blinken met his Indian counterpart S Jaishankarwhere the two leaders focused on bilateral ties and discussed global issues including the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The US Secretary of State also met Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrovin a first face-to-face encounter since the start of the war in Ukraine in February last year.
