For the first time in history, recognising the rising Hinduphobia in western countries, the USA's one state, Georgia, has passed a county resolution condemning Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu bigotry.

With that development, Georgia has become the first state to recognise Hindu phobia. This comes amid the anti-Hindu incident that has been intensifying in the state of America.

In the resolution, they mentioned that Hinduism is one of the world's largest and oldest religions, with over 1.2 billion adherents in over 100 countries, and encompasses an array of diverse traditions and four belief systems with values of acceptance, mutual respect, and peace.

Furthermore, it has also been mentioned that Hinduphobia, as described by the Understanding Hinduphobia Initiative, is "a 16 set of antagonistic, destructive, and derogatory attitudes and behaviours towards Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism) and Hindus that may manifest as prejudice, fear, or hatred, and there have been documented instances of hate crimes against Hindu Americans 19 over the last few decades in many parts of the country.

The resolution also highlights Rutgers University's report titled "Anti-Hindu 21 Disinformation: A Case Study of Hinduphobia on Social Media, which detailed how hate messages on social media translate into real-life threats for people of the Hindu faith.
