Khalistan radicals have been bowing the seeds of hatred against Hindus in the minds of the youth. Many Sikhs today continuously try to draw differences between Hinduism and Sikhism. From blaming Hindus for anti-Sikh riots to saying Hindus have always targeted Sikh gurus in past, Khalistan has always used such type of anti-Hindu narrative, to the create rift between Hindus and Sikhs, so that they can fulfil their agenda of making separate nationhood to preserve their distinct identity. That's only reason why Hinduphobia is increasing among this particular section of the Sikh community.
However, do they read the history? So let's bust these the Hindu Vs Sikh narrative today, and tell them about how Hindus protected Sikhs from the Mughals in the past
We have all known Bangla Sahib Gurdwara, a prominent house of worship for the Sikh community, located on Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Delhi. Some of us may have also visited the place. The name — Bangla Sahib — hardly matters to the devout, but a general visitor is curious about its origin.
Unlike most other Gurudwaras in the country, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib wasn’t originally built as a shrine. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib was originally Bangla (palace) of the great Hindu King Raja Jai Singh, the ruler of the Amber kingdom (later known as Jaipur).
When Mughal tyrant Aurangzeb summoned 6-year-old Sikh Guru Har Krishan-the boy prophet who became the eighth Sikh Guru in 1661-, Jai Singh protected the Guru & offered him residence here. He donated Bangla to Sikhs.
Aurangzeb summoned Guru Har Krishan. Even after knowing that violating the summon would only mean the execution of the Guru was reluctant to go to Delhi.
At that time, Great Rajput king Raja Jai Singh realising that Guru's life was in danger, personally went to Kiratpur to protect the child Guru. It was not at all an easy task for him. When he reached Kiratapur and offered help to Guru, Gurumata Krishan Kaur refuses it. While refusing to accept his help, she frankly said, " We will not go. We do not trust the Mughals. Nothing good has ever come from them".
Acknowledging her concern Jai Singh gave her surety of protecting Guru at any cost. He said, "Mother, I take responsibility for Guru's safety. He will be my guest. I am a Rajput. This is a Rajput word. I won't allow the hair of the Guru to be touched. I will lay down my life for it. I will always be by his side ."
'
After Raja Jai Singh's assurance, Mata and the Guru were convinced. Following this, the Guru accompanied Jai Singh to Delhi. Jai Singh not only followed his words but he protected the Guru and acted as his ambassador. He petitioned the emperor on Guru's behalf. Jai Singh ensured Aurangzeb didn't even lay his eyes on Guru.
While the Guru was in Delhi, Raja Jai Singh lodged the Guru in his Bungalow on the outskirts of Delhi. Guru was treated with great respect & given every comfort. After Guru passed away, the palace was given to Sikhs and it later became Gurudwara.
It was not only Rajputs, but many Brahmins laid down their lives to protect the Sikh Gurus and their families.
Bhai Singha Purohit
Do you know that Bhai Singha Purohit rescued the daughter of Guru Hargobind, Bibi Viro, from the hands of the Mughals?
When the Mughals attacked the city of Sri Amritsar Sahib Ji, Guru Hargobind Sahib's family was forced to leave the city. Moreover, when they reached Ramsar Sahib, they came to know that Bibi Viro, the daughter of Guru Hargobind Sahib was missing. She was just a child at that time. In that situation, Bhai Singha Purohit disguised himself as a Mughal army man entered the Amritsar and rescued Bibi Viro. He laid down his life in protecting the Guru.
Raja Tarachand
When Guru Hargobind was attacked by the Mughals, he was forced to leave the Punjab plains for hills. Raja Tarachand of Kahlur received and protected Guru Hargobind. He did not pay homage to Shah Jahan. Raja Tarachand wasn't subordinate to the Mughals. His land provided full security to Guru from the Mughals.
Even Raja Tarachand donated the land for the Guru. According to Sikh historians such as Surjit Singh & Hardeep Syan, Kiratpur Sahib was built on a land that was donated by Raja Tarachand.
Raja Ram Singh
In another incident when Guru Tegh Bahadur was arrested by Aurangzeb, and was about to be executed, the Hindu prince Raja Ram Singh pleaded with the emperor to rescind his order. Ram Singh eventually secured the release of the Guru.
In 1700, when the Mughals attacked Anandpur Sahib, Guru Gobind Singh was forced to leave his seat and seek safety in Kutlehar. Guru was in a very critical condition. At that time Mughals ordered the Raja of Kutlehar to hand over Sikhs to the Mughals. However, Raja defied Mughal orders and protected the Guru from the Mughals. For this indiscipline, the Mughals punished Raja. His Jagir was reduced.
After Guru Gobind Singh ji passed away, the house of Guru's wife in Delhi was sacked. They were forced to leave Delhi. It was then Sawai Jai Singh who protected Guru's wife & family from the Mughals and provided them with a good house in Mathura and a handsome allowance for their subsistence.
After turning pages of the forgotten history, one can understand that Hindus always have protected the Sikh brother. But these radicals are propagating lies to divide Hindu & Sikh unity.
It is in our hand to not let them succeeded in achieving there 'Khalistan moment agenda'.
