San Francisco, March 20: As the Punjab government cracks down on pro Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh, now Khalistan supporters have started creating chaos across the world. After vandalism in London, Khalistan supporters allegedly attacked Indian Consulate in San Francisco. Videos of supporters breaking the doors and barging into the office surfaced on social media.
Visuals shared online showed a huge mob brandishing Khalistan flags mounted on wooden poles, using it to smash glass doors and windows of the consulate building. They raised pro-Khalistan slogans as they broke through makeshift security barriers raised by the city police and installed two Khalistani flags inside the premises.
Major Surendra Poonia in his tweet said that it was unacceptable and shocking that no action was taken by the government. “Unacceptable Khalistani miscreants attacked the Indian consulate in San Francisco after Indian officials removed Khalistani flags from consulate building,” Poonia tweeted.
The protests come amid the attack on the Indian High Commission in London where a mob pulled down the tricolour and put up Khalistani flags instead. The tricolour however, was restored at the IHC building soon after being pulled down.
The Indian External Affairs Ministry summoned the British deputy high commissioner Christina Scott to demand an explanation for the "absence of security" at the high commission premises and criticized the UK government's "indifference" to Indian diplomats and personnel.
