Mumbai, February 21: In a shocking development, son of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray group) MLA Prakash Phaterpekar’s son Swapnil attacked singer Sonu Nigam and his team members at a live concert in Mumbai.
The incident took place when Sonu attended a music festival in Chembur on Monday evening. The matter come to light after the video of the incident went viral on social media.
It is being said that MLA’s son allegedly misbehaved with Nigam’s manager Saira and asked her to leave the stage. When Nigam was leaving the stage, he asked for a selfie, which the singer refused. The agitated son of the MLA pushed the bodyguard and then pushed the singer.
As per the video that is getting viral on social media, Swapnil pushed the singer from the stage, hit his colleagues Hariprakash and Rabbani Khan and made them fall down the stairs and injured them. Rabbani sustained injuries and was rushed to Zen Hospital in Chembur.
Following the incident, Nigam approached the Chembur police station and filed a complaint against the MLA's son under Sections 341, 337 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
'By mistake': Chembur MLA Prakash Phaterpekar on son's scuffle
Reacting to the incident, Prakash Phaterpekar said that it was a minor scuffle but whatever happened was wrong.
"He did not attack them, when you see the video you will know that it happened by mistake. He did not push them on purpose. At the time of leaving the stage, he was trying to get a selfie. What happened was wrong...Despite being a boy, he is very polite...I apologise and I feel guilty," he said while speaking to Times Now.
