Attack against Hindu temple continues! Ram Mandir defaced with anti-India graffiti in Canada, India calls for prompt action

The Consulate General of India in Toronto strongly condemned the defacing of Ram Mandir in Mississauga, Canada and called for stern action against the perpetrators

Amid the ongoing series of the incidents where Khalistani miscreants vandalized numbers of the 'Hindu Temple' in Canada, now another prominent Ram Mandir was defaced with anti-India graffiti in Missisauga in Canada. Banned US-based terror group Sikh for Justice has claimed responsibility for the incident.

Ram Mandir defaced with anti-India graffiti in Canada

The Consulate General of India in Toronto strongly condemned the defacing of Ram Mandir in Mississauga and called for stern action against the perpetrators. “We strongly condemn the defacing of Ram Mandir in Missisauga with anti-India graffiti. We have requested Canadian authorities to investigate the incident and take prompt action on perpetrators,” it said.
 

Brampton's Mayor Patrick Brown also condemned the "hate-motivated" vandalism at the temple and said this type of hate has no place in the region.
 
"I am saddened to hear of the hate-motivated vandalism at the Ram Mandir Temple in Mississauga. Unknown suspects spray-painted the walls on the back of the temple. This type of hate has no place in Peel Region," she said in a tweet.
 
This is not the first such incident in Canada. Earlier in January, a Hindu Temple in Brampton Canada was defaced with anti-India graffiti. The Indian Consulate General condemned the vandalism at the Gauri Shankar Mandir and said that the “hateful” act “deeply hurt” the sentiments of the Indian community in Canada. In September last year, BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Canada was defaced by 'Canadian Khalistani extremists' with anti-India graffiti.

Chandra Arya, Member of Parliament, Canada had said that Canadian Hindu temples have been targeted in the recent past by these kinds of hate crimes ad that Hindu Canadians are “legitimately concerned”. In July 2022, a statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Vishnu Mandir in Richmond Hill in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) was defaced.
