The author has dedicated the following poem to the youth of India, who shoulder the responsibility to direct the entire nation's future.
Define Yourself – Gen Z (A Short Poem)
What defines Youth?
Who are these Youths?
Why is Youth misunderstood?
Sometimes you are rude, sometimes you are confused,
Sometimes you are arrogant, sometimes you are inelegant,
Sometimes you are boastful, sometimes you are bossy,
That’s not you, that’s not you. (1)
Sometimes you are cruel, sometimes you are clingy,
Sometimes you are untidy, sometimes you are finicky,
Sometimes you are horrible, sometimes you are gullible,
That’s not you, that’s not you. (2)
This is not you, this is not yourself, this is not your truth.
These are your emotions,
These are your accretions,
These are your cessations. (3)
Then who are you?
You are limitless,
You are that thought, that strikes frequently, propelling you to take action, making you boundless,
You are that belief, that one man’s resolute can save Mother Earth so that humanity can stay endless.
You are that golden heart filled with empathy, wanting to create an egalitarian society borderless.
That’s you, that’s you, that’s you (4)
You got to define yourself, ignoring how others see,
You have come on this planet to enable others, experience wisdom and just be free. (5)
