Airbus Helicopters and Indamer have teamed up to offer advanced after-market services for helicopters in India, a major stride in the development of the rotary-wing Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) industry in the country.
Under the guidance of Airbus Helicopters, Indamer will provide top-notch MRO services for their helicopters at their facilities in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Nagpur. The inauguration of the Nagpur facility was honored by the presence of Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, along with Romain Trapp, Executive Vice-President of Customer Support and Services for Airbus Helicopters, and Prajay Patel, Director of Indamer Aviation Pvt. Ltd. Also in attendance were Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia, and Sunny Guglani, Head of Helicopters for Airbus India and South Asia.
"Creating and sustaining a robust rotary-wing aviation ecosystem in India is a top priority for Airbus Helicopters. Through our partnership with Indamer, we are committed to serving our expanding fleet in India and unlocking its future potential, while also bringing in the technical expertise needed to elevate India's helicopter MRO aspirations," stated Romain Trapp, Executive Vice-President of Customer Support and Services for Airbus Helicopters.
"More than ten years ago, Indamer made a crucial decision to establish their rotary-wing MRO division, with a specific focus on meeting the growing demands of Indian customers for helicopters. The recent recognition from Airbus serves as a testament to Indamer's unwavering dedication to this mission. We firmly believe that with the right support, we can effectively meet the maintenance needs of our Indian customers within the country. Our alignment with Airbus in this shared vision is a source of great pride, and we are grateful for their acknowledgement," stated Prajay Patel, Director of Indamer Aviation.
The Indamer-Airbus Helicopters MRO partnership is set to revolutionize the servicing process, providing a faster turnaround time and creating a seamless after-market experience for not only Indian customers, but also those in the wider South Asia region.
This collaboration between Airbus Helicopters and Indamer is just one example of Airbus' expanding presence in India, as they work towards establishing a mature and comprehensive aerospace ecosystem in the country. Today, every Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopter incorporates critical technologies and parts that are designed, produced, and maintained in India.
It's amazing to see how Indamer has quickly become the top MRO operator for helicopters in India, with a strong presence in various locations like Nagpur, Mumbai, Pune, and New Delhi. Airbus has played a major role in this growth, dominating the domestic civil and parapublic helicopter market and accounting for over half of the new registered deliveries since 2010. It's no surprise that there are currently over 125 Airbus helicopters being used in India and South Asia, with popular models like the H125, H130, H135, H145, and Dauphin leading the way. These helicopters are widely utilized in the energy, commercial, and business aviation sectors, making them a crucial part of the region's transportation infrastructure.
