The so-called "journalist", Salil Tripathi, has passed objectionable remarks after the Bharatiya Janata Party registered huge victories in the Hindi heartland states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. He has "blamed" the aspects like "lower literacy, lower female literacy, lower female labour force participation" for BJP's victories in the assembly elections.

Taking to X, Tripathi wrote, "I know correlation isn't causality, but the states that have lower literacy, lower female literacy, lower female labourforce participation, higher use of Hindi, higher population, higher fertility, and lower tolerance of meat-eating, seem to prefer voting for BJP".

This tweet went viral facing massive backlash from the netizens.

Soon after netizens called out him for his "racist comments" against voters, he justified saying that, "The idea, that voters' verdict is to be respected, needs to be unpacked. Of course it must be honoured. But it does not mean it is beyond criticism."

Another so-called journalist Paranjoy Guha Thakurta wrote on similar lines. "Victory for Hindutva and its coalition partner Big Business. Soft Hindutva of Cong fails miserably. North-South divide widens. Cong fails to win votes of poor. Infighting & weak party organisation hurting Cong badly – it's unable to counter BJP's control on institutions & media," he said.

These so-called liberals, with an aim to spread propaganda, are trying to divide North and South ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections.
