On Monday, senior BJP leader Pradeep Purohit leveled severe charges against the BJD. Purohit claimed that the BJD spent crores of rupees in Chhattisgarh to prevent the BJP from winning.
He further said that BJD officials in western Odisha worked hard to persuade people to vote against the BJP in the neighboring state's assembly poll.
"The BJD spent crores of rupees to ensure the BJP's defeat in Chhattisgarh." Many BJD leaders traveled to Chhattisgarh to campaign for the Congress and others because they understood that if we won in Chhattisgarh, the BJP wave would formally enter Odisha through western Odisha. "Their worst nightmare has come true, and they should be aware that their 'death bell' has rung," he stated.
"In Chhattisgarh, all exit polls predicted a Congress victory." However, the people of Chhattisgarh believe and trust Modi, which is why the Congress was defeated. "The BJP will now resume its development journey in Chhattisgarh and gradually expand into Odisha," Purohit remarked.
The BJP official went on to say, "The BJP wave will begin in western Odisha and gradually spread to the coastal belts and other parts of the state." People in Odisha desire a change as well. This election outcome marks the 'death knell' for the BJD in the impending 2024 national elections."
Pradip Purohit also addressed the Mahanadi Water Dispute between Chattisgarh and Odisha, claiming that it was only a political ploy for both the Congress and the BJD.
"The BJP will try to fight for Odisha's rights, but the BJD will continue to play with the people of Odisha." "The conflict will end as soon as the BJP takes power in Odisha," he said.
While no remarks from BJD leaders could be gathered in response to the BJP leader's charges, the Congress responded. Sarat Pattanayak, President of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee, challenged him, stating, "I will retire from politics if anyone proves that the Congress received a single pie from the BJD, the BJP, or anyone else in Chhattisgarh." The Chhattisgarh PCC president is capable of handling electioneering. The Congress is never reliant on anyone."
