Islamabad, Dec 23: Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif once again hailed India saying neighbouring countries have reached the moon but Pakistan has still ‘not risen’ from the earth.
Notably, India created history by becoming the first country to land on the south pole of the Moon with the spectacular success of the Chandrayan-3 mission. "Our neighbours have reached the moon but we haven’t even risen from the ground so far. It can’t keep going on like this," Sharif said while addressing the Pakistan Muslim League_ Nawaz (PML-N) cadre in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Speaking on the economic crisis faced by the country, Sharif further criticised saying that Pakistan is responsible for its downfall. "We have been responsible for our own downfall, otherwise this nation would have reached a different place," said Sharif, who is running for Prime Minister for a fourth time.
“In 2013, we were facing severe load shedding of electricity, we came and ended it, ended terrorism from all over the country, restored the peace of Karachi, highways were built, CPEC came, and a new era of development and prosperity began,” he added.
Earlier, while addressing the (PML-N) event in Lahore on Tuesday, Sharif casually remarked that neither India nor the United States were behind Pakistan’s miseries, but the cash-strapped nation shot itself in the foot.
