Karachi, Dec 18: In a major development, reports surfaced of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim being hospitalized in Pakistan's Karachi due to a serious health complication. Dawood Ibrahim was hospitalised two days ago and kept under tight security inside the hospital and is the only patient on his floor. Only top hospital authorities and his close family members have access to the floor.

The Mumbai Police were trying to gain more information on the hospitalisation of the underworld don from his relatives Alishah Parkar and Sajid Wagle.

Amid the speculations, an alleged screenshot of caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar, went viral on social media confirming the death of Ibrahim.

The post read, “The Messiah of humanity, dear to every Pakistani heart, our beloved His Excellency Dawood Ibrahim passed away due to poisoned by unknown. He breathed his last in a hospital in Karachi. May Allah grant him the highest position in Jannat. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”

However, it was fake news. The screenshot was of a handle called anwaar_kakkar, a fan account of PM Kakar, and there was no such tweet either.

In January, the son of Haseena Parker, Dawood Ibrahim's sister, told the National Investigating Agency (NIA) that the underworld don stays in Karachi after marrying for the second time. The NIA, in its chargesheet, against Dawood Ibrahim stated that he and his top aides control Pakistan's Karachi airport.

The 1993 bombings resulted in the death of over 250 people and left thousands injured. And, in 2003, the Indian and US governments had declared him a 'global terrorist'.
