New Delhi, Nov 5: Popular YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner, Elvish Yadav, found himself in a controversy after the police stopped him during routine checks in Kota, Rajasthan. This came after an FIR was filed against him and five others in Noida on allegations of supplying snake venom for use at rave parties.
In Noida, an FIR has been registered against Elvish Yadav and five associates, all accused of being involved in the illegal supply of snake venom, a substance often associated with high-risk and prohibited activities.
“During routine checking in view of the Assembly polls (in five states), Elvish Yadav, along with his friends, was stopped at a check post on his way to Kota. After interrogation and confirming with the Noida police that he isn't wanted and the case against him is under investigation, he was let go,” DSP Kailash Chand, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Hisar Range, told news agency PTI.
Snake venom is a dangerous and controlled substance under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, making its illegal possession and distribution a serious criminal offence.
Meanwhile, the social media influencer released video in which he claims to be falsely targeted for his support of Sanatan Dharma. Yadav alleged that he is facing consequences for backing the Sanatan Dharma, a stance not commonly taken by other social media influencers.
"Even bigshot YouTubers don't support Hindus, I do that, and I am witnessing the cost of my support for Sanatan Dharma. Many things happening to me are linked to that," he stated in his video.
Elvish Yadav, widely known for his content creation and online presence, has denied the allegations, expressing his willingness to cooperate with the authorities throughout the investigation.
Nine snakes, including cobras, were rescued from the possession of the five individuals who were arrested for attending a party at a banquet hall in Sector 51. The party was a trap set by the animal rights group People for Animals (PFA).
