The Delhi Police Special Cell captured two gunmen affiliated with Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Arshdeep, also known as Arsh Dalla, in a key operation.

 

 

 

 

The arrest came following a tense standoff in East Delhi's Mayur Vihar neighborhood on Sunday and Monday nights. Following a tip-off, the shooters, Rajpreet Singh alias Raja (25) and Virender Singh alias Vimmy (22), were apprehended and detained.

The Special Cell was led to the intended site in East Delhi's Mayur Vihar based on solid intelligence. During the arrest, there was a brief exchange of fire, with the accused firing five shots. Surprisingly, two of the shots struck a bulletproof vest worn by a watchful police officer, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation.

 

A preliminary inquiry of the arrest's motivations uncovered a terrifying conspiracy hatched by Arsh Dalla. The terrorist allegedly instructed the shooters, Raja and Vimmy, to target Punjabi singer Elly Mangat. An earlier attempt was attempted last month, but the assailants' plans were foiled due to Mangat's absence from home.

The detained suspects' possessions were seized, including a.45 mm revolver with six live ammunition, a.30 mm handgun with seven live cartridges, a hand grenade, and a stolen bike. The stockpile of weaponry and the stolen car underscored the gravity of the threat presented by the gunmen led by Arsh Dalla.

 

The arrests of Raja and Vimmy highlight the ongoing security threats presented by Khalistani militants working from overseas. The alleged participation of Arsh Dalla in the plotting of an assassination attempt on a prominent Punjabi musician highlights the global reach and impact of such extremist networks. The found armament raises fears about a possible escalation of violence and the need for increased security.
